Re: Bluetooth Peripheral Device cannot be found.

My problem was "driver not found" for this Hardware ID:
BTHENUM\{00005005-0000-1000-8000-0002ee000001}_LOCALMFG&000f

I have a Trust 1300TP Bluetooth USB adapter (Item no 14377).
In trust Site, I found only WinXP driver, that didn't solve my
problem.
Vista detech the key as "Blutonium BCM2035 Bluetooth 2.4 GHz Single
Chip Transceiver".

After several day of web searching, I tried with BroadCom updated
driver (BTW_6.0.1.5500) from 'Broadcom Corporation - Bluetooth Software
Download' ([url]http://www.broadcom.com/products/bluetooth_update.php[/url])

But they didn't solve my problem.

During the Broadcom driver setup, I backed up the BTW_6.0.1.5500
folder, (before closing driver setup form).

I decide to manually edit the btwavdt.inf in BTW_6.0.1.5500\win32

In [WIDCOMM] section, I add this line

Code:
--------------------
%BTWAUDIO.DeviceDesc1%=BTWAUDIO,BTHENUM\{00005005-0000-1000-8000-0002ee000001}_LOCALMFG&000f
--------------------

I saved this modified .inf file in the same folder as btwavdtmcsty.inf
and it worked for me!

I'm not sure, but I'd like to test another patch, but I can't reinstall
this driver.

This second patch is in [WIDCOMM] section

Code:
--------------------
;McSty
;%PBAPPSE.DeviceDesc1%=BTWNULL,BTHENUM\{00005005-0000-1000-8000-0002ee000001}_LOCALMFG&000f
--------------------

Good luck
McSty

Re: Bluetooth Peripheral Device cannot be found.

HI to all in the thread.
I am using Vista Home Premium on HP Pavilion and I have the same problem
with "Bluetooth Peripheral Device".
Evry boot I got two msgs about 2 different BT peripherals :
BTHENUM\{426c6163-6b42-6572-7279-427970617373}_LOCALMFG&000f
BTHENUM\{426c6163-6b42-6572-7279-44736b746f70}_LOCALMFG&000f
It seems to me that this situation also hung the explorer.exe process (>50%
CPU resources).

Do you have a suggestion ? I am getting crazy for that !
Thx
Marco

Re: Bluetooth Peripheral Device cannot be found.

You can edit the in-built windows driver to detect your bluetooth device
to work with windows in-built software. Refer this thread

Re: Bluetooth Peripheral Device cannot be found.

I think some misunderstand (one of you got it :-) the bluetooth device
is installed FINE its the "services" that are creating the bluetooth
peripheral device driver request problem.

UNCHECKING THE DEVICES IS A NON SOLUTION AS YOU DEFEAT THE POINT is to
"use" those services.

if I want to use DUN and I UNCHECK dun YES the driver request will go
away but so will any ability to USE DUN.

See what I mean?

I install fine. I PAIR fine. they see each other but as soon as I try
to use SERVICES I get this stinking issue.

anyone have any idea how to fix it?

Is the Bluetooth built in or a dongle?

Please list relevent information on make/model. If it's built in, list make
and model of the computer. If it's a dongle list make and model of the
dongle.

If you know it uses Broadcom's Bluetooth chip and you're using earlier
version of WIDCOMM try the upgrade at...
[url]http://www.broadcom.com/support/bluetooth/update.php[/url]

The download is an installer and only updates to the latest WIDCOMM software
and driver available, if it can find Bluetooth driver already installed.
This basically means you need to have the earlier version of WIDCOMM
software/driver package installed or at the very least the driver.

The installer doesn't work even if you have a dongle or built in Broadcom
Bluetooth chip without the driver present.

Re: Bluetooth Peripheral Device cannot be found.

its a dongle. one of the $4 ebay hong kong dongles.

I got 2 one works the other does not

well correction they BOTH work just fine. windows detects. windows
installs.

They both can SEE other bluetooth devices. They can both PAIR with
other bluetooth devices.

its when it comes time to install SERVICES that I run into problems. ie
once I link my blackberry it off course wants to install Dial Up
Networking for Bluetooth (which is exactly what I want)

ITS HERE at this step that it asks for drivers. but only for the one
dongle.

problem is these are nano dongles. no names no markings I have no idea
which is which so I have no way to REORDER the "working" dongle and stay
away from auctions for the non working dongles.

Can you find the VID (vendor ID) and PID (product ID)?

Do you know where to locate those? It should be listed under Details tab
for the device in Device Manager.

On the Details tab, underneath Property change Device description to
Hardware Ids by clicking on it and scrolling down.

It may look like this...

USB\VID_047D&PID_105E&REV_0000

Re: Bluetooth Peripheral Device cannot be found.

GRRRRR I just plugged it into the desktop PC for the first time and it
works without asking for drivers. Tested connection works flawlessly. I
think this is the good dongle.

SO either this is the "good" dongle and i need to dig up the other
dongle OR there is something different about this computer even though
both system were installed from exactly the same XP Disk.

I will dig up the other dongle and let you know.

Just for the heck of it here is this dongles information
Off course can't copy and paste that :-)

BTH\MS_RFCOMM\6&1E6C5899&0&0

there is a PAN entry as well:

BTH\MS_BTHPAN\6&1E6C5899&0&2

Those are both under Network Adaptors

There is a Bluetooh Section titled

Bluetooth Radios
Microsoft Bluetooth Enumerator
Silicon Wave Bluetooth Wireless Adapter

AHH I think this is what you wanted

USB\VID_0C10&PID_0000\5&34A681E0&0&3

I will MARK this dongle now since I know it works on at least one
machine and then try it on all the machines to see if its the dongle or
the machines.

I will also find that other dongle and report back.

Information I found on Google seems to indicate Silicon Wave Bluetooth
Wireless Adapter uses Broadcom bluetooth chip.
