| My C&C3 experience Finally got around to grabbing C&C3 and installing it under Vista 64bit. Ran into a little issue that's kinda funny. First I installed it under the True Admin account, but when I went to run the game I got this error message http://images1.filecloud.com/407563/CnC3_error.jpg Which I found funny. But just to be sure, I ran Supreme Commander (another game for Windows game), Stalker and HL2. All where happy. Just for giggles, I re-applied the Feb 2006 DX runtime update. No difference So I booted under Vista32, loaded the game and it worked fine. Booted back under Vista64, it's pointed to the same install location as the Vista32 and it still reported no DX9.0. I logged out and on to a standard user account (with UAC enabled), Reinstalled again, same error. Fortunately , there is already 3 patches out, So I applied patch 1.03 and it then started fine under Vista 64. The patches don't mention anything about this bug, but everyone seems to have undocumented fixes these ays. I played through the first mission and the performance was fine, though the cut scene videos seem a little choppy in the sound department. |

| Re: My C&C3 experience Yes, I read the System requirements. I noted the experience I had and how it was fixed. It plays just fine under Vista 64, once you get past that one little error. I can live with the "isn't official supported" aspect, though they do have a thread in the forums that address running under Vista 64. Stalker (and a slew of other new games) doesn't mention any Vista support and that doesn't stop me\us from trying to play them under Vista64.
