Vista and RAID5

Just put together a supermicro server with the Intel Xeon E7450, the board is a supermicro X7QCE with a RAID 5 on four WD RE2 500GB RAID drives and 16GB memory on a Supermicro CSE828TQR1200 2U server chassis. When we're trying to install Windows Vista Ultimate 64-bit, the server starts to install and once it goes throught the normal routine and reboots, it doesn't boot up to windows instead it shows a blank screen or a lone cursor.

We replaced the Slim-type IDE DVD-ROM that came with the chassis with a Slim-type SATA DVD+/-RW. We tried installing Windows Vista using the IDE DVD-ROM and installed fine but couldn't get it to install using the SATA DVD+/-RW.

Is there anything we're doing wrong? Hope someone can help.
