Problem: ATI Graphics Driver

Help, Please,
I bought an Inspiron 1501 from Dell. Got it 2 months ago. When using the internet, the screen will suddenly go blank and be filled with multi-colored vertical lines. It freezes. I have to turn-off the computer without going thru proper shut-down process. After I reboot, I get a message from Windows that reads as follows:

It then directs me to a problem solving page for updating ATI Graphics Drivers from Microsoft. I click on run update and it responds with all updates are current.
My daughter bought the same computer, identical, when I did and she has NO problems. How do I solve this. It's frustrating...I'm no computer Wiz.
