As bloggers write about their reflections on the year, we will see some people suggesting the UMPC was a failure. The biggest challenge for the UMPC will be for people to overcome the initial marketing. For example,
Charlie White goes a little further with his opinion and says:
This “jack of all trades and master of none” has me folded up and tied up in knots, because there is no good text input, slow processors, they're not small enough to put in your pocket, but not large enough to have a decent-sized screen or keyboard. Worst of all, Microsoft told us these little PCs would cost $500, and when they were released, all of them were well over $1000. Good riddance to you, UMPC; now go take your place in the ash heap of history where you belong.
Funny words but not really accurate. Windows Vista on the UMPC is extremely powerful. The key is to add a USB drive to the USB 2.0 slot so that ReadyBoost is used by the operating system.
