Having had a Tablet (Electrovaya's 300 -- I soupped it up -- with a 10.4" screen and 8 hrs of battery life but no good in sunlight, I am looking for a better bird, since EV no longer makes these. Its 12" models have transflective (bottom & top lit screens that are sunlight resistant), and have almost 8 hours of battery life (via their patented POLYMER lithium battery); but they are too big.
2.Are there any UMPCs that are glare-resistant (transflective or just transmissive)
3. and have over 5 or 6 hours of battery life?
One of the EO's or the AGO7 knockoff with the double battery, will get 4 hours? If one is not playing video? Are the batteries hot-swappable?
But I believe none of the UMPCs have sunlight resistant screens, yes?
Fujitsu Tablets do; but that is it? This is an abominable situation. I cannot stroll in the park or sit on a bench in my yard and do work. So the claim to "take the UMPC anywhere" is false. [Some militarized versions have sun-resistant screens; but for over 4 grand; and they can be dropped from 3 or more feet and survive, etc.]
3. Need I ask if there is any UMPC that is a "toughbook", in the sense of taking drops of 3 feet and not needing a new motherboard. I have lost 2 computers by slips in putting them into their bags.
Help anyone.
