| From one great idea to another Hello, Although I am new to your site, I hope that you will start to see many more posts from me in the near future. If you have any questions or comments, please post them here and I will get back to you as soon as possible. I started a company last year using a dummy touchscreen monitor and Thin Client to run our concept. Fortunately, the UMPC replaced our previous model which brought our cost down considerably while increasing our capabilities. Our company is using the TabletKiosk eo i 7209 wrapped in a custom mold in restaurants for table side ordering/entertainment. We have intergrated our client's menu's into the UMPC touch screen along with providing a way for the patron's to contact their wait staff and order from the bar. This complex model is now affordable with a clear ROI for our customers while using the 7209 versus our custom design. The cost of our complete model is around $50 - $75 a day for 50 units/tables. Through the use of our custom designing and programing, the restaurant can show the patron pictures of each item on the menu and quickly add Special's that are streamed to every table. We see the advantages of the UMPC marketplace as being endless although the marketplace (we feel) will not truly take advantage of the UMPC until their are more useful accessories for the home, student, business user. While we are in the final stages of the table side ordering system, we decided to create a new e-commerce site specifically for buying UMPCs. We currently only offer the TabletKiosk eo brands. We've looked at the Samsung line and found it to be very impressive (especially their latest offerings) but feel that the customer service does not compare to what the TabletKiosk company offers. I want to mention our site because our goal is to offer the lowest priced UMPC with lots of accessory options. Accessories, in our opinion, are what make the UMPC excitingly useful. We have a small team of people searching the net as of today to find more accessory OEM partners. If you know of an accessory (hardware or software) that you use, please let me know what you think of it. www.BuildYourUMPC.com Kindest regards, Adam Snide Co-Founder of Advanced Dining Solutions LLC Build Your UMPC is an Advanced Dining Solutions company More... |
