The Fujitsu U810 Ultra Mobile Device is a miniaturized Tablet PC. According to
a recent review by Geek:
The U810 has a 56-key QWERTY keyboard placed as it would normally be on a notebook and that is hidden when the device is in tablet mode. It weighs in at 1.56lbs and is about 6.75″ x 6″ x 1″ with the battery installed.
The weight on this system looks nice but I am not sure about the expectations of needing a keyboard. Yes, I love the slate design and can't picture using a 56-key QWERTY. The TIP would do just fine. Actually, my first Tablet PC was a slate and I own the TabletKiosk iTablet as well as the TabletKiosk UMPC. An Acer convertible is somewhere in a box and my Gateway convertible is being used less and less.
The slate is my preference because the lack of keyboard keeps the weight off the system. If a keyboard is necessary then a wireless USB is easily added through the port. An external monitor is also available when my eyes are particularly tired. It took time to get used to using the UMPC because my expectations needed adjustments. For example, I used to think a keyboard was necessary. I started typing at a young age and therefore am an experienced typist. Yet, after working with the TIP and adding items to the dictionary then my skill with the TIP matches the keyboard. If given the opportunity, I suspect others would find the same to be true.
