Last year Pligg (a Digg Clone) was installed on the domains
Tablet PC Counter and UMPC Counter. The hope was to get article submissions specific to the Tablet PC and UMPC and have the community rate the articles - aka - digg.com style.
The site failed because RSS imports were not available and the maintenance of the site was too great for the amount of time available. Plus, after posting to a blog, the last thing bloggers want to do is repost on another site. In other words, this site's idea was nice but the implementation stunk. RSS imports was vital to the implementation.
After spending the last two weeks tinkering with the site again, Pligg was deleted and a new software package was installed. The new Digg Clone software supports RSS feeds and loads much faster. A new version of this script is expected in a few weeks and should provide more features.
The new layout is extremely simple and should provide an overview of the daily stories. Only one category is listed (technology). Other categories may be added over time. Story comments are available but I highly suggest people comment on the original blog location.
Thirteen different RSS feeds are presently linked into the site. Anyone not listed may simply email me (LPH at TabletQuestions dot com) and I will add the feed to the site. Manual submissions are allowed for registered members.
