The Ultra Mobile PC systems have been around long enough to determine if the topic is penetrating technology website discussions. For example, a Google search on the term UMPC returns over 2 million pages. In comparison,
Mobile Internet Device only returns 155,000.
Another comparison is to look at the number of ad impressions on Google search for various terms. Brace yourself - because this is going to hurt.
Two ads were created in Google adwords. The first ad uses the keywords or phrases "Tablet PC, Tablet PCs" while the second ad uses the phrase "UMPC, Ultra Mobile PCs, MIDs, etc"
The text of the ads are the same, except the URL is different.
Below is a snapshot of the campaign for today.

The Tablet PC ad had over 12K impressions relative to the 25 for UMPC. Not shown in this image is that over a two day period, the Tablet PC impressions were over 56K while UMPC was just over 500.

The UMPC dies. And no one notices. The story is number 13 on the UMPC Google Search term results. Number 15 is a story that
Origmai is a disaster. Three of the top 20 sites on the search results are dead or no longer updated.
As a community, we certainly have our work cut out for ourselves.
We need an ultra-plan. A plan to show people how to use the UMPC so that efficiency is improved. Therefore, I worked to clear up a TabletKiosk UMPC from my daughters and plan to carry the UMPC with me. I hope to write about the experience daily so that others can follow along and maybe get excited about why the UMPC is a great product.

Note]: I usually use the UMPC for reading e-Books. Hopefully I can expand my usage scenarios a bit. After all, the
Monster List of reasons to use a UMPC has grown and just telling everyone that another e-Book is being read (again) is a bit boring.
