Jim Vanides
continues his video series for the Tablet PC. Everything discussed is possible on the UMPC, too.
The second video demonstrates ideas for using Microsoft Journal in the classroom rather than a whiteboard or PowerPoint. The "stretchy" paper demonstrated is simplicity and impossible on a whiteboard. A second advantage (not discussed) is the lack of marker smell and not dealing with the dry markers getting all over your hands. Finally, dry markers run out of ink whereas digital ink is always available.
Of course, teachers may need help in setting up the connections between the projector and UMPC. Plus, the teacher should check with the district. For example, our district does not allow "foreign" computers on the network. The teacher is on their own to get the Tablet PC or UMPC connected.
