Question Stylistic LT P-600 OS Loading

Hello:
I have recently purchased a used Fujitsu Stylistic LT P-600
tablet. It was running Windows 2K Pro but the OS was
removed prior to the sale.
I am attempting to re-install an OEM version of 2K Pro and use the licence that is on the computer.
Problem is...seems the BIOS won't recognize a CD drive and, of course, the OS is on a bootable CD.
When I move into the Boot order in bios it is only recognizing the floppy drive and hard drive as bootable. No USB CD listed at all. As a matter of fact it doesn't seem to to recognize any USB devices at all.
I could probably create a boot floppy and try and get to the CD drive that way but I only have a USB floppy drive and, as I said, it doesn't seem to recognize USB.
I could probably purchase a protable floppy drive that it would boot but wonder if there's another way. Is there any way this bios (Version 1.3) can be made to recognize a CD?

Thanks

Weird i thought all tablet pc's came with a option to boot from cd-rom why in the heck did they remove the os that was stupid you may have another issue that you are not going to like.

Certain tablet pc's esspecially older ones running windows 95,nt 4.0,98,me,2000 had to be connected to a network and a netowrk install had to happen in order for the computer to boot anything but there may be a work around.

have you tried to boot from a floppy disk here is why i ask if you can get the tablet to boot from a floppy disk then all you need is a usb hub because once the disk's boot and windows 2000 start up disks detect the cd-rom drive it will start the install automaticly

but yet another problem comes to mind as well your usb may be shut off from inside the bios you might want to have a look at the bios on your computer.

Re: Stylistic LT P-600 OS Loading

Hi John:
Thanks for the help. There is an option to boot from a network and I may have to go that route if I can't figure out something else. I don't know if it will boot from a floppy. The only floppy I have is a USB device and the system won't recognize the USB. The floppy it accepts and considers drive "A" is one with an older style connection. I may have to pick up a used one. There are a couple on ebay. Other than that...I'm at a loss.
I have absolutuly no idea whey they removed the Operating system. The computer has an OEM licence
sticker and identification number on it so the whole this is quite legal.
Take care

Has been quite awhile Im not sure if you found a solution to this problem or managed to boot from a network so I thought I would add my two cents. I have not dealt with your device in particular but I have experienced similar situations. If you are trying to boot from a CD that is attached via a pcmcia slot it will not work except on very new systems. The bios does not initialize the pcmcia slots, they usually don't start working until your operating system is loading. What I find works in many cases is to slave the drive into a regular tower and install an operating system onto it manually or install a disk image. After you switch the drive back to the original device you usually get some error messages but windows boots and then you can sort them out from safe mode. Many companies who sell surplus equipment feel they are protecting the previous owner by deleting operating systems from the hard drive. Really the data could be retrieved anyway if you were determined. I don't know why anyone would bother as I have bought several off lease computers that had all the companies stuff still on there and all their programs installed. I'm sure mundane business data and old company memos are just a gold mine for evil doers /sarcasm. Most large companies maintain their sensitive data in a central server database not on employee terminals.
