| Any idea about how to upgrade memory ? On HP's web site they not only say you can upgrade memory to 640mb but advise you to use only HP memory. BUT. I called HP's Rugged phone number and was told by the representative that it is NOT user upgradable. OK So which is it? Is HP misrepresenting this on their web site or does the customer service department inept? Thanks Mark PS. because I loaded mine with software the dealer won't take it back so I am stuck with it. |

| Hi, I'm sorry to read about the confusion in answers. I moved this question to its own thread so that others can chime in too. Do you have the exact model number available? Please also let us know what the dealer (tech support) said when you asked? Maybe some of the confusion is the interpretation of the word "user upgradable" versus upgradable. It happens sometimes. Get back to us on the model number and then we'll see what is happening.

| Hi, What I have is an HP TR3000, part # DV133U#ABA, model # DX 300, this is the version with both bluetooth and WiFi. I call HP’s own Tech Support # 1-888-HPRUGGED, and the tech person was unable to find any info on how to upgrade memory or even if it is upgradeable. On HP’s web site it says you can upgrade to 640mb memory and recommends genuine HP memory. So it is being sold as upgradeable. I purchased it from CDW and when I called to return it they told me because I had opened the box and loaded some software on it I could not return it to them and had to call HP and see if they would let me return it. From HP’s web site under memory it says” 256MB (PC-133) SDRAM Standard - 640MB SDRAM maximum (with two 256MB DIMMS)” http://www.hp.ca/products/static/not...ifications.php Mark |
