My Versa Litepad wont boot up

I own a NEC Versalite Tablet for about a year, and it was working fine until I dropped it from about 2 feet high, from that moment on all I get is "A disk read error occurred, press ctlr, alt, delete to restart"
I have tried wiping clean the Hard Disk and the memory module but I still get the same.
I also tried the system restore disk but it wont work, I also loading the boot up files from Windows into a Floppy, resetting the BIOS setting (I can get to them with no problem).
When I press the power button it shows the NEC Logo, them the HDD shows some activity until the message above appears.
I changed the boot up order so that the floppy would load up first but I didn’t help when I tried the boot up files in the floppy.
Is there any software that I can use thru the floppy to awaken the hard disk?

Best regards,

I think you need to get the drive replaced, if only temporarily to see if the same problems occur. Nowadays, hard drives have mechanisms in place to protect them from trauma, but in the not-so-distant past, dropping a computer (especially when its on) would be death to a drive, unless you were lucky.
