So after finding this out I wanted to reinstall the os, I went to bios but a password screen came up and thats where I am now. Is there any way to reset the bios or cmos via keys or flashing anything on the motherboard? Any help wpuld be very apprecieted, thanks. |

| I don't know if this will work with Acer but it works with my desktop. You might want to verify what is about to be stated before attempting. A CMOS password can be cleared by erasing the Real Time Clcok (RTC) RAM. The RAM data containing the password is powered by the button cell battery. Procedure (if correct for you) 1. Turn OFF computer and unplug power cord. 2. Remove the "button cell battery" 3. This you will have to find out from ACER as to which jumpers "clear CMOS". Short the jumper by replacing the jumper cap and removing it after no less than 4 seconds. 4. Re-install the battery 5. Plug in and turn on 6. Hold down the Hope this helps. You will need a schematic of you ACER motherboard with jumpers indicated so that you can find the "CLEAR CMOS" jumpers (if they exist) Perceptive_One |
