Exclamation Bios Password Reset

I don't know if this will work with Acer but it works with my desktop. You might want to verify what is about to be stated before attempting.

A CMOS password can be cleared by erasing the Real Time Clcok (RTC) RAM. The RAM data containing the password is powered by the button cell battery.

Procedure (if correct for you)

1. Turn OFF computer and unplug power cord.
2. Remove the "button cell battery"
3. This you will have to find out from ACER as to which jumpers "clear CMOS". Short the jumper by replacing the jumper cap and removing it after no less than 4 seconds.
4. Re-install the battery
5. Plug in and turn on
6. Hold down the key during the boot process and enter BIOS setup to change data.

Hope this helps.

You will need a schematic of you ACER motherboard with jumpers indicated so that you can find the "CLEAR CMOS" jumpers (if they exist)
