Unhappy Tablet PC won't resume -- overheated?

After several hours of excitement installing all of my applications on my new Fujitsu tablet pc, it died on me (it went blank and won't resume).... My best guess is that it got overheated. Two or so hours later, although it feels quite cool, it is still not responding to the stylistic pen or the resume button. The power indicator is on....

Two concerns: First of all, I am freaking out. Is it destroyed? Does it need more time to cool off? How long? Second, I was so looking forward to using this baby in the office, home, on my many travels, and meetings. If it can't handle the "heat," it doesn't seem to be as good of a tool as I thought it would be. Why was I not warned about the heat? Of course, this may not even be the problem....

Lost new tablet pc enthusiast!

Well.... I gave up on waiting for something to happen as the system seemed locked... and dead. I took the battery out and put it back in, and then I was able to start it.

Of course, I am happy but very lost as to what caused all of this. I am still concerned about the "heat." I mean, one should be able to use her tablet pc for a few hours, right?

Thanks for listening....

FIC SlateVision

Hi there,

Sorry I couldn't respond earlier. My Academic Decathlon Team competed all day today in Los Angeles, which is about 60 miles from here.

A few weeks after purchasing an FIC SlateVision, a similar problem happened to it. It would not respond to a pen but the light was on. Removing the battery and putting it back in fixed the problem. It never happened again. In talking to my brother, this is common with some of his notebooks too.

Hopefully you will not have any more problems. Let us know and welcome to the community!

"Academic Decathlon Team"? Sounds so much more exciting than what I was doing all day here in the SF Bay area. You reminded me of my competition days (track & field). Sigh.

Yes, I've seen this problem before with a notebook -- where removing the battery and putting it back in fixed the problem -- but it never occurred to me that this is what could be happening here. At any rater, I really LOVE the tablet pc and can't imagine ever going back to a desktop!

Thanks for making this community forum available.... I'll be sure to stay in touch.
