I ran the filever task as per the directions in your post. I have a Fujitsu Siemens Notebook with tablet features LifeBook T-3010D. The installation of Windows XP is a 'customized' build deployed by my corporate CIO organization. In the case of my notebook, since it shipped with the Tablet XP version, when it was deployed, I was told that our standard build of XP was installed and then the 'tablet programs were installed on top of the base OS'.

In the last month, all of the workstation PCs with XP were updated, according to the CIO organization, to some version of Service Pack 2. The version that shows in the System is Microsoft Windows XP Professional Version 2002 Service Pack 2.

Ever since the update to Service Pack 2, my tablet input panel only displays on the login screen. After the computer has started up, I cannot open the TIP either from the icon on the taskbar or by using the screen gesture or any other means. If I open MS Journal, I can use my stylus as a pen, but not in One Note.

I did confirm that the setting in the Regional/Languages are as you documented in the post.

I also use an FSC Lifebook T3010 and I have problems with my TIP.
I use Windows XP Tablet PC Edition 2005, Office 2003 Professional and OneNote 2003.

About 1.5 months ago I made some Windows and Office Updates and I installed Adobe InDesign 2.0.
After my next restart the TIP still appears but does not show the virtual keyboard anymore - if I choose that register no letter is shown - the plate where the letters had been is just shown blank.

I uninstalled Adobe InDesign 2.0, but it didn't help.
I chosed an earlier system recovery point with the Windows XP system recovery, but it didn't help.
Since I have a lot of programms and data installed on my Tablet I am not fond of erase all and install all new...

I was finally able to resolve my problems when I found one of our desktop support technicians who was willing to reload the laptop with the tablet version of Windows XP Professional SP2 and then, after he confirmed that the TIP features were working correctly, he was able to 'overlay' our corporate configuration for the XP client.

So, if you can obtain a disk for the updated version of Windows XP Professional SP2, you should be able to restore your full functionality. I realize re-loading the PC is a pain, but that may be your only option and I think the new features of the TIP are worth it.
