Hello

I'm new to Tablet PC's and I have a question. :detective

I got a compaq tc1100 and it won't turn on
I plug in the AC cord and the power light comes on but that's it, when I try to turn it on I get nothing. There is only one power cord with my unit, it plugs into the wall then into the PC. Should there be another cord?

Reseat battery

Sorry to read about the trouble. Since you have the one light then I'd look first to the battery. Reseat it and see what happens. Let us know.

What do mean by Reseat? I've taken the battery out and waited for 15 minutes then put it back in.

About a year ago, my FIC stopped working. The light was on but nobody was home. With the power plugged in, I pulled the battery, reseated it, and managed to get the unit started again. In talking to others, this is a common issue with notebooks too. I just figured it was a place to start.

Give it a try and let us know.

No I tried that but it still doesn't seem to work. There appears to be a reset button on the battery and I've held that in and still nothing. Do I need two "pieces" for the power cord. I one have one "piece that plugs into the wall then into the tablet. The picture on the HP website shows two "pieces" maybe one with a converter???

Thanks,
Matt

Matt, check page 31 of the hardware guide for a picture of the AC adapter. You should have a power Cord that Connects to the AC Adapter that Connects to the Tablet.

Also, check the Security Screw for the battery pack. Next, check the quick check lights for your battery. Do lights show for your battery? Finally, can you run the unit without AC connected - and battery only?

Then let me know the steps You have taken So far.
