Unhappy Tablet mode doesn't allow writing, only keyboard???

Hello all,

I sure hope someone can shed some light on a problem I've encountered with a brand new Toshiba Tecra XP Tablet PC (I'm sorry I don't recall the exact specs, this was at work today).

We set up our sales department with 6 of these machines and every one of them seemed to work fine except one....

The pen does not write....it does everything else, it just doesn't write...

Whether this is in tablet or standard mode, I was able to use the pen to click/double click etc. When I selected the tablet mode from the taskbar, the window would come up, but I was only able to select the keyboard mode...I could not select the other two options (both for writing with the pen). I was able to do this on all the other tablet PCs.

I have checked all of the settings and they appear to be the same on all.

One thing of note while I'm thinking of it. One of the other techs turned off a bunch of things in the startup menu to cut down on the processes that run automatically. One of the things he turned off was called TRot....after he did this I found that one of the other PCs' screen would not rotate...(TRot)....I turned that back on and it solved that issue....maybe there is something in the startup that got turned off by mistake??

Whatever it may be, I sure would appreciate any guidance anyone here could give me to try and solve this issue. I am fairly new to our IT department and I'm trying to show my worth;)

Thanks in advance:)

Did you check the logs to see if there is a message being recorded whenever you try to use the pen? The Event Viewer may be of help.

Let us know.

I will check, although it won't be until Monday. Thanks for your advice, feel free to post any more ideas and I'll try those too.
