| bluetooth for m200 I have a toshiba M200 which I purchased 2ndhand, and I know that it has bluetooth because when I first received it had it with all the software etc, and after testing to see that it worked I never touched it again. Anyway, after a reformat (which was a somewhat painfully story unto itself) it no longer seems to, and now I need it. How do I get it back? I understand that I need a bluetooth stack for windows, as provided http://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/t...ublicList]here - is the actual device driver incorporated into this file? While attempting to install the bluetooth stack using the above software, during the "Installing Bluetooth driver" it prompts me to 'Plug in the Bluetooth device" with Ok/Cancel - clicking Ok just makes it churn again for a while before prompting me again. In device manager I have no signs of a bluetooth device, but I do have 1 unknown device. What do I need to do to get bluetooth working? any help would be much appreciated! |

| M200 Bluetooth install Hi, download this: http://cdgenp01.csd.toshiba.com/cont...itor_xpsp2.exe Run the EXE, then open up your device manager, now update the driver, for the unknown device.. BTW XPSP2 has the Microsoft Bluetooth stack included Regards, Dagrafixnan Let me know if you still have problems getting it to work |

However, exactly what should I update the driver with? As said, I have not been able to find an actual device driver. I can't see any drivers in the bt_monitor_xpsp2.exe package or the bt_400036t.exe package. |

| Bluetooth M200 Hi danno, Did you see a filename of tosrfcom.sys ? that is the file the M200 needs to run the toshiba bluetooth & not M$'s once you run the exe, & reboot the M200, that file should startup bluetooth automatically the device manager should find the new hardware, locate, update, & activate it. (I'm pretty sure than unknown device is your bluetooth). the Toshiba utility allows blootooth to be enabled or disabled, I keep mine disabled unless I'm using it to sync my Clie' or other device (to save resources) I'm in NJ, not at my PA house but am going there tomorrow. I'll have a look at my M200 and see what all the files, Toshiba's bluetooth stack are using. I'll post them as soon as I'm able. Dagra Let me know if that works in the meantime |

I do not see the tsrfcom.sys in either of those exe files (bt_40036t.exe or bt_monitor_xpsp2.exe). However, after searching it is present in my c:\windows\system32\drivers directory so it is possible they extracted it from somewhere. After running the bt_monitor_xpsp2.exe, my system does prompt to reboot, but after rebooting, nothing happens - the device is still unknown. I have tried manually running the bluetooth monitor but it does not detect anything, plus I don't know how it normally works. thanks for your assistance dagra, greatly appreciated. |

| A quick update - i removed the "Unknown Device" from device manager, and now when I run the bt_40036t.exe, it will attempt to install the device, however it fails and I get the "An error occurred during installation of this device" bubble in the systray. Is it possible my bluetooth device is damaged or somehow disabled? Obviously it is finding it, but it can't find the correct drivers for it. |

| does anything show in the device manager, after the failed attempt? It is possible it is disabled, or defective. I'm going to reseach whether there is something besides a hotkey that can disable bluetooth...I would think it would take something,(like the switch to turn Wireless on and off) to effect it, in such a way that it won't even install it... Have you looked in the event viewer for any details? |

After the failed installation, there is an "Unknown Device" in the device manager, "this device is not configured correctly (code 1)". Nothing shows up in the event viewer. Quote:
Anyway, I suppose my only option now is to open up my tablet and have a look inside.. however considering how involved that seems to be, was really hoping to avoid that. |
