I recently purchased a Toshiba Protege M400 TabletPC. I chose the
option with a DVD Drive/CD Burner instead of the multi format DVD
drive. After what I spent on I saw it would cost $300 more and figured
I can always add a external USB drive. Yet with a laptop it's hard to
want to tote something like that around.
I have looked a internal laptop DVD burners and have looked at the dual
layer drives such as the NEC ND-6750A which I can get for just $69
currently. My question, I have never upgraded a optical drive on a
laptop. Is there a standard size or connector type. Is this something
that would fit into this computer or do I need the model that Toshiba
specifically makes? I'm interested in any other option that's cheaper
whether it's NEC or any other brand that's good.
