So I am thinking about purchasing Toshiba's Tablet PC

I will only buy laptops from Toshiba, IBM, and Apple (maybe Dell...)

is there a newer one coming out (from Toshiba)?

Is it good quality?

Now what I would want to do is be able to write down words and equations and have it be linked (imported) into programs like word/latex and mathematica/maple (just plain note taking woudl be nice also)

basically I want to have publishable stuff (so it needs to go to typewritten and in a pogram that can handle all sort of publishing options..), as well as powerful tool (mathematica and maple have put a lot of effort into algorithims so are better than other solving software)

so, any comments?

You'd think that math equation stuff would be an ideal ground for the Tablet PC, but currently, unfortunately, it's not.

There are companies working on it though - you might want to take a look at this
