Unhappy Portege 3505 - Random cursor location with pen

My tablet and pen are not functioning correctly. I'm running SP2 on a Toshiba portege 3505. It has been working fine even after the update (except for the occasional verticle band issue)

I've seen this happen before on my machine: when I hold the pen up to the screen, the cursor does not appear under the tip, instead it appears at a random location on the screen, and as I move the pen, the cursor continues to move to seemingly random locations. I remember seeing this, restarting, and the issue went away, but now it will not.

Could it be from tinkering with the startup of services? Or could it be a driver issue? I'm not using Wacom's pentabled driver, but I'm going to give it a try. I've tried turning back on all the Toshiba services (I never disabled any vital ones AFAIK) and have tried disabling and uninstalling the pen drivers. When I restart the pen drivers show up again in the devince manager. The pen continues to display the same problem.

Any ideas on what I can do short of a system restore?

Thank You,
Robert

Have you tried calibrating your pen? look in Control Panel For Tablet and Pen settings.

At some point I actually did, but the issue was far more severe than that.

Actually I just managed to fix it by reinstalling the latest Ali video drivers 'p350vidx.exe' which I found on Toshiba's site.

Thanks!
