Bootable Floppy?

Can you boot to a floppy disk? You may be able to reset your BIOS to clear the password. My last laptop has a jumper switch inside that would clear the BIOS password. A pain to get to as the M200 has (if I remember correctly) 20 screws plus a fan power cord to unplug to get inside. Some of the threads about wifi cards upgrades have instructions/pictures of removing the back. I'm guessing the Toshiba has a jumper also. But I've found no documentation on it if it does have one.

Toshiba BIOS info

Here's a link to the Toshiba BIOS info. Use the method for the Protege M200.

Also try removing the system's internal battery. That can also reset the BIOS.

CMOS Battery

I'm not sure I understand.... You took out the internal CMOS battery not the big rechargeable battery. You have to open up the bottom of the case to get to the little watch type battery. If you have opened the case also look for a small jumper usually labelled CMOS or BIOS. Take the jumper off (if it's on) and reboot. When the tablet boots turn it off before WinXP loads (hold the power switch in the on/off position for 7 seconds or so). Put the jumper back on and reboot. I'm not sure but when I did this with my Quantex the first boot just boots to a message "CMOS Cleared". Then I put the jumper on and rebooted after reassembling. Be careful you dont touch anything in the laptop if it's open when you reboot or zap! If this doesn't work you'll have to contact Toshiba tech support. It may have to be done 'in house' if your not comfortable with opening the unit.

This post in another forum shows the M200 opened but I do NOT see from this image where the CMOS battery is.
