I've been thinking of buying a M200, but I noticed on this forum that Toshiba is integrating the new Intel processors.

Does anyone have any idea on when the next line of Tablet PCs will come out from Toshiba?

I'm a student and don't have much cash, my summer work is going towards this tablet for grad school. I really don't want to waste my money on a PC if they're coming out with a newer model soon right after school starts in August.

I've heard there are still delays in getting these to market. They originally were announced for last year. No one knows when they'll arrive and how long it'll take Toshiba to get them to market.

I found this great link to TomsHardware.com that explains the difference between the Banais and Dothan. Maybe that'll help your decision.

Looks like the Dothan M200 Tablet PC's are available. For some reason there customize option is screwed up. It keeps adding $350 to the total after it has been added into the cart. I checked and checked again. I don't see where it's coming from. However, I just checked back today and it seems the customize option has been removed; probably temporarily for a fix, most likely. Hope it comes back up soon. I'm itching to order it due to the price breakdown difference. That's $200-400 more in my pocket to buy some accessories for this baby. :D

I would also like to know, like Khai, if there is any speculation on a next generation Tablet PC from Toshiba; same circumstances, tight on cash, student, etc. I probably won't end up purchasing the next generation one mainly because it will most likely be high priced and out of my range, but the drop in price of older models would be nice. I would hate it if I bought it and a week or so later they have some "back to school" sale.

The Dothan models are out of inventory.

The good news is that the demand is very high. The bad news is that you have to wait for more to become available

What! You're kidding me! Is that the reason it is down?

That is what I was told. Patience seems to be the key to purchasing Tablet PC product. Hopefully that will change soon.

I guess the next question would be, would you happen to know how long it takes for a company like Toshiba to restock? ;)

I was told a date and wasn't sure to post it ... it's a shocker.

I'd hate to be wrong and that would really be awful - so my suggestion is verify the date by calling 1-800-TOSHIBA and ask for a published date. My understanding is that it may be the end of July. You never know, though, because things in this industry change quickly.

Geeze... oioioioioi, my date for purchasing was set back until the end of July or into August. Looks like I'm stuck with that... I was going to try and order earlier when I saw the price drop. End of July though? That's strange.

thanks for the congrats...i'm really excited...i actually think the wait is great in this day of instant gratification. I was wondering if there is a website or search where i can find new tablet software...i just want to see what else i can spend my money on, :w00t: j/k. well, i received my accessories on monday, (wasnt home to sign for the package on friday)...i'll let you guys/gals know when it arrives...

ok, after i posted i saw a Tablet PC-software thread..duh. nice sites...but need assistance, and where better to post?! i'm going to medical school and would like specific software to aid my studies...i'm looking for pharmaceutical, biochemistry, anatomy, medical dictionary-type software. any help???

just got off work, looks like my tablet shipped today and i'll receive it on monday! thats 9 business days!
