| Hibernate rather than Start up First generation Tablet PCs take a long time to start up after shutting them completely down. This is because after you shut down the computer, the operating system, your preferences, and any applications must reload from the hard drive. This can take nearly two minutes. A much better solution is for you to use hibernate. When place the Tablet PC in hibernate, the computer saves everything in memory to your hard drive. When you "wake up" the Tablet later on, everything is restored faster than starting up. Important hibernation options are set in the "Power Options" module of the Control Panel: * Hibernate tab - make sure hibernation is enabled * Advanced tab - option to set the power switch to hibernate instead of shut down Modified Original Text from University of Norte Dame |
