lt p-600 boot

Can anyone help?

I am looking to buy a used LT P-600 which has no memory, HDD or PSU.

PSU shouldn't be a problem, Memory too but even though HDD is laptop type, how do i install XP?

Can I boot from USB? If so i was thinking of using another small laptop drive in a USB driven caddy and copying all the XP install data to it then boot from it? Does that make sense?

Otherwise i have a PCMCIA DVD Rom but can't boot from PCMCIA.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Hi There.

Are these the ones currently on ebay?

If so I bought one yesterday, so I will be in a similar position!
Not sure if usb boot is an option - this is really only supported on newer machines.

Easiest way i can see to boot for a windows installation is to start the installation on another machine and get to the point where it reboots the 1st time.

Then power off the machine and either:

a) take the hard drive that you used to start the installation (if you used a laptop hard drive) and then put it in the fujitsu to continue.

b) use norton ghost to clone the hard drive to a laptop hard drive.

Until I get the tablet myself i cannot confirm if there is an easier way though.

There must be a more straightforward way than this though, else how would you install windows if it was brand new.

Cheers

Ben
