What processor does the Tablet PC use?
The original Tablet PC that Bill Gates presented at Fall Comdex 2000 used a Transmeta Crusoe 600 MHz CPU. Second generation Tablet PCs offer the Intel Pentium III processor-M and Mobile Celeron Processors. See this list for specifications and reviews of the latest hardware. The Intel website has a nice comparison chart of the different mobile processors.

Why are the processors so slow?
According to Intel, a Centrino 1.6 GHz processor is comparable to 2.4 GHz Pentium 4-M.

What is the size of the Tablet PC?
There are many different size Tablet PCs from manufacturers. Most convertibles are the size of the common notebooks in the market. Acer C110 is smaller.

What model has the largest screen size?
The Acer C300 has a screen size of 14". Most other models use a 12" screen.

What are the common screen resolutions?
Most models use a 1024x768 resolution. However, the Toshiba M200 has a separate video card (presently the only one) and can use a maximum of 1400x1050.

Will the screen scratch?
It is important for you to be gentle with the screen. While it is designed to place your wrist on it, you should be careful with jewelery, watches, etc. You may want to consider purchasing a screen shield. WriteShield is available for some Tablet PC models.

How do I clean the tablet pc screen?
Use a soft cloth. Please see this thread for more information.

Do I have to use the special pen?
Yes, the Tablet PC screens require digitizer input via an EMR pen. It is not activated by touch (such as fingers). This allows you to rest your hand on the screen without fear of something being changed.

Are all Tablet PCs pressure sensitive?
If you have a Tablet PC that uses the Wacom graphics digitizer, then you can use the Wacom enhanced driver for the Tablet PCs.

Who are the OEMs of the Tablet PC?
The following OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers) have demonstrated Tablet PCs: Acer, Compaq, FIC, Fujitsu, Motion, NEC, Tatung and ViewSonic . Don't forget to check the hardware forums for lively discussions about the hardware.
