Tablet PC - Software DiscussionsWhat cool Tablet PC software have you seen lately? Do you prefer GoBinder to OneNote? Or does TabletPlanner save you from utter disorganization? Have you tried the latest by...?
I recently purchased a GAteway CX210X Tablet PC. I have Microsoft Windows XP pro installed at the time of purchase. I have 1GIG of ram; ATI graphics card and I have additionla Microsoft products such as Microsoft Office 2003 Professional; Visual Studio.net 2003,etc. THe problem is even before I installed these programs everything I wrote in the input panel would not paste into Microsoft Outlook. When pressing insert the handwriting "which was converted to text" simply disappeared. I searched and searched and could not solve this issue. Gateway told me to contact Microsoft "yeah right...who can afford that?" However, in one of the forums I found that someone had posted a batch file called clearink.bat. After I boot up "the input panel will not work with Outlook after a bootup" I run clearink and then the input panel begins to work with Outlook 2003. Everytime I re-boot "i.e. come out of hibernate, or whatever" I have to run the clearink.bat file in order for the input panel to work. Microsoft Word is the default editor for Outlook. The input panel also does not work in Word "obviously" until after running clearink.bat, either. What is going on? I have seen this as being a problem for over a year on the forums "referring to the tcserver.exe memory leak, etc.
I have all the latest updates from Microsoft Updates, and I even installed a couple hot fixes nothing fixes it other than running clearink. Is there a fix out there that I am missing? Please let me know!
