Streets and Trips

Looking for instructions to install MS Streets and Trips USB with GPS. I set up the tablet to share the CD Drive on the desktop across the wireless network, browsed to setup.exe, and the wizard started, then failed with error box saying "you cannot install over a network unless you first perform an administrative installation. See the readme file on disk". I Googled for "deploy MS ST over a network." Got a hit, get same error. Nothing makes sense about this administrative install, can someone help?

I'm assuming that you logged in with administrative userid or one with the rights of an admin. If not, then you'll need to do this before the install will work properly.

This can be done by going to a command prompt, changing directory to the one where the msi file is located (mine was in CD1\Streets\MSMap) and then typing the command msiexec /a data.msi (or whatever your msi filename is). For MS Streets & Trips 2005, I also had to move the files in the CD2 datadisk over to the folder CD1\Streets\MSMap\PFiles\MSMap\Data to complete the installation.
