Use as a graphics tablets

Hi all,

I've seen quite a bit about using tablet PCs for handwriting / digital paper and so on, but how do they rate for more graphical uses? For example, I use a nice A4 Wacom graphics tablet with my Notebook, where you draw one one surface, and then see the display on the LCD.

Has anyone here tried this on a tablet PC? Do they support more advanced features like pressure sensitivity (press harder, thicker line) and tilt detection? I seems like an interesting concept.

Regards,
Douglas

Recent review dicusses tablet pcs for graphics

Hi,

Great question.

There was a recent review published titled, A New Class of Computers. The author states The surface is pressure-sensitive, allowing for variations in width or opacity of strokes. This works very well, but the screen is limited to 256 levels of pressure, not the 1,000 or so that are available in a Wacom Intuos tablet. The second page has a caption under an image that states, "Storyboard artists will relish the ability to sketch, paint and make client changes without having to re-draw or re-scan art."

Don't forget to check out Tablet PC Post for software.

They are preety good. What I do is I use this program so I can control my desktop from my tablet. When ever I need to draw, I just pick up my tablet, jump on my bed, and start drawing.
