Transmeta's Crusoe Processor Selected by DuraTab Corporation

Transmeta's Crusoe Processor Selected by DuraTab Corporation for Rugged, Fanless Tablet PCs

Transmeta Corporation (Nasdaq:TMTA), the leader in efficient computing, and DuraTab Corporation today announced two DuraTab Tablet PCs that utilize Transmeta's energy efficient, high performance Crusoe(R) TM5800 processor.

DuraTab's 8" and 12" Tablet PCs, running Microsoft(R) Windows(R) XP, are 802.11g wireless ready, and built with a metal casing to withstand the most rugged computing environments, while providing exceptional performance and up to seven hours of battery life for productivity at the office or in the field.

"Transmeta's processor technology enables our products to be fanless, run quietly and be cool to the touch, with extended battery life for hours of operation," said Mark Burns, president, DuraTab Corporation. "Many business environments, whether indoors or outdoors, are harsh and not conducive to today's less rugged mobile computer designs."

DuraTab's Tablet PCs are highly versatile, with hard disk options ranging from 20-to-80GB, and the option of typing directly on the screen or using an external, plastic roll-up keyboard. Many features of the product can be customized based on user requirements.

"DuraTab's selection of Transmeta's energy efficient, high performance processor technology shows the wide range of environments where mobile computing is now required," said Arthur L. Swift, senior vice president of marketing, Transmeta Corporation. "Those who operate in harsh environments must have durable, dependable systems, or their business could be compromised."

Systems by DuraTab have been adopted by customers for a wide range of deployments, including: medical and dental offices; physically challenged/wheelchair applications; contractors and construction sites; warehouse inventory settings; auto repair/body shops; manufacturing clean rooms; police and fire departments; and marine/boating environments.

DuraTab's Crusoe-based Tablet PCs are now available through the company's direct sales program. Pricing for the 8" version starts at $3250 and the 12" version starts at $3499. For more information visit, www.duratabusa.com.
