| Pen&Internet releases riteForm 2.0 AIIM Conference & Expo, Booth 2037 – New York, NY – March 8, 2004 - Pen&Internet®, LLC, today announced the immediate commercial availability of riteForm™ 2.0, an advanced recognition solution for processing handwritten forms on mobile pen-enabled devices, including electronic pen and paper, Pocket PC, Tablet PC and Windows CE tablets. With riteForm, users receive the most powerful and accurate forms recognition, which employs Pen&Internet's next-generation handwriting recognition technology and the new level of context sensitive recognition of individual form fields. Targeted to the mobile enterprise and small business markets, riteForm can operate locally or as a server-based product. Forms processing is a multi-billion dollar business for industries such as healthcare, financial services, construction, sales and field service automation. Enterprises are increasingly shifting to more efficient and mobile forms processing using electronic pen and paper, handheld devices and tablets. Mobile forms processing eliminates document scanning and substantially reduces storage, processing time and the volume of manual corrections for unrecognized forms. According to Gartner reports, up to half of forms processing costs are attached to the time employees spend re-keying, searching for, and retrieving information. "Businesses are increasingly searching for new tools to improve the automation of forms processing," said Peter Grant, principal analyst for Gartner. "Organizations that adopt electronic forms processing technologies will reap substantial new efficiencies in their traditional workflow management – resulting in significant cost savings and productivity for the enterprise." Since its initial release six months ago, riteForm has received positive feedback from system integrators and OEMs. A few highlights include: riteForm is a recommended ICR solution for HP Forms Automation System (FAS); Anoto is a forms processing partner for its digital pen and paper technology; Antelope Technologies has bundled ritePen and enables riteForm with every Modular Computer Core mini-computer. BalanceSys Corporation is one of the most recent customers to incorporate riteForm into its enterprise software. "The pen is a natural productivity medium for capturing information into a form," said Brett Frey, president of BalanceSys Corporation. "We selected Pen&Internet's for its extensive expertise in handwriting recognition and forms processing and are excited by the high ROI and productivity potential with riteForm to help manage workflow for our clients." Key new features: Improved recognition accuracy: Provides highly accurate and unrestricted recognition of forms with Pen&Internet’s advanced handwriting recognition technology. Custom dictionary builder: Developers can create custom vocabularies from individual word lists via Pen&Internet’s lexical utility (available for riteForm Local SDK). New platform support: riteForm is now available both remotely and via device-based recognition for Windows (including Tablet PC, Ultra Personal Computers and other devices with pen input), Pocket PC and Windows CE tablets. Additional developer tools: Provides user-friendly tools for application development of electronic ink and handwriting recognition. Allows developers to save and visualize electronic ink for debugging and troubleshooting purposes. Enhanced language support: Now available for German. Product availability riteForm Local SDK and riteForm Remote SDK for developing forms processing applications are available for Windows 98/2000/XP/XP Tablet PC Edition, Windows Mobile (including Pocket PC 2002 and 2003) and Windows CE 4.X. riteForm is shipping with over 40 vocabularies, covering the most common forms fields. riteForm is available for a one month free evaluation and for commercial licensing.
