| Technology That Travelers Want Becomes the Standard at All Doubletree Hotels Doubletree(R) Hotels (NYSE:HLT) today announced that all of the brand's 160 locations will offer high-speed Internet access in every guestroom and meeting room by year-end 2004. Doubletree is poised to implement this technology across its brand with nearly half of the brand's 41,000 hotel guestrooms already offering high-speed Internet service. Doubletree also announced that they have selected PrinterOn(R) as their preferred hotel remote guest printing service and will provide this unique technology in every hotel guestroom by year-end 2004, through the brand's high-speed Internet access infrastructure. "Doubletree has always believed in the longstanding philosophy of delivering a high quality hotel experience that not only meets our guests' expectations, but surpasses them," said Dave Horton, senior vice-president -- brand management for Doubletree. "By establishing a brand-wide technology package of high-speed Internet access and the unique convenience of guest printing services all in a genuinely welcoming hotel experience, Doubletree is truly empowering today's frequent business traveler with the convenience to stay connected and be productive." By connecting their notebook computer via a supplied in-room Ethernet cable connection and following a simple set of on-screen instructions from their preferred Internet connection application, guests will be able to surf the Web at Doubletree hotels at speeds of up to 50 times faster than a dial-up connection. Just as important, the service will be backed by a 24-hour, toll-free customer support line that will be available for all users. The complementing PrinterOn guest printing service makes it possible for Doubletree hotel guests to print from a notebook computer in their guest room to a central printing resource in the hotel's business center or at the front desk without special cables, drivers or technical support. To use the hotel guest printing service, guests simply connect to their in-room high-speed Internet service and use their Web browser to visit the hotel's branded printing Web site. "The PrinterOn Internet print solution for hotel guests provides a value-added service for Doubletree guests and enhances the use of the high-speed Internet in the guest rooms," said Steve Spicer, CEO and president of PrinterOn. "Doubletree guests can now use their laptops to transmit and print important documents conveniently and securely." Many Doubletree hotels in major metropolitan areas also are offering wireless high-speed Internet access in hotel lobbies, lounges, restaurants and public areas for guest use. Signage is located in public areas to designate zones where guests can connect with their 802.11b mobile devices -- including wireless LAN-capable laptop computers, tablet PCs and PDAs that operate on Microsoft Windows, Macintosh, Unix and Linux operating systems. High-speed Internet access charges in both guest and meeting rooms and availability of complimentary PrinterOn guest printing services varies by location.
