Form Designer for the Tablet PC

Laguna Niguel, CA (PRWEB) September 23, 2004 - Active Ink Software has released version 2.0 of their Form Designer for the Tablet PC, with support for Microsoft’s Windows® XP Tablet PC Edition 2005 operating system. This new version was designed for people who want to build electronic forms and use the Tablet PC as a pen input device.

The Tablet PC as an Input Device
Active Ink’s Form Designer creates digital forms for use on the Tablet PC. An electronic pen is used to enter data and the handwriting ink is then converted into a digital format. If the converted text is recognized incorrectly, a Correction Panel is used to edit the text.

The Form Designer has several unique features for creating forms. These include the following:

· Toolbox – For creating shapes, lines, images and text labels.
· Document Importer – For importing scanned images (bit map, JPEG, TIFF, etc.).
· Field Type Identifiers – For defining field types (check box, drop down, text, integer, etc.).
· Input Scopes – For defining the format of how data is presented (Date, Postal Code, Telephone Number, etc.).
· Common Phrases – For defining a grouping of words that can be stored for later use when filling out a “text” field.
· XML Formatting – For storing the ink and data in an XML file format for parsing into another database application.

“We’re really excited about Form Designer, version 2.0, says Steve Hoffman, Active Ink’s Vice President of Sales and Marketing. “Tablet PC owners will now be able to ink enable both paper and electronic documents and derive a whole new level of productivity out of their Tablet PC.”
