LANDFILLS around the world are chock-full of useless chunks of hardware that the hi-tech industry tried to foist on unsuspecting buyers. Few could forget the various pen-computing machines of the early 1990s.

This is a reprint of an older story that circulated. First, sales for Tablet PCs has increased. Second, the new Windows XP Tablet PC Edition 2005 is the correct name and not 2004.

Hopefully sales will continue to climb as people discover the most natural way to interact with a computer.
