This is a very colorful rant or opinion piece. I absolutely disagree with many of the 'faults' listed but I'm glad that the author has decided to keep the Tablet PC. After all, you don't need handwriting recognition to use the power of the tablet - keep the notes in their natural form.

Note to the good people at HP: Remember that Tablet PC you let me borrow? Yeah, that’s right, the TC1100. Well, I’ve got some bad news for you—you’re not getting it back. It’s become an indispensable part of my life, so I have decided to keep it.

More important, his conclusion is absolutely up for debate. The Tatung Tablet PC and slower FIC SlateVision were both desktop replacements. Oh well.
