| Turning a Negative Into A Positive Last month I predicted that this was the year for the Tablet PC sales to take a big leap and show just how wrong naysayers have been about this form factor. Evidence supporting this idea comes from the explosive growth in the consumer market that welcomed the Averatec C3500 Tablet PC, the continued introductions of new models with faster processors and longer battery life, and ultimately the fact that members of the press are slowly figuring out that the Tablet PC is more than a viable product but it is a superior product to a laptop. Let's take each idea and expand on them. First, let's start with the Averatec C3500. This product was such a surprise to many naysayers that Toshiba is now introducing their own model to directly compete with the C3500. Others will follow suit soon. This is such a simple piece of evidence that the Tablet PC Community needs to really thank Averatec for showing that the consumer market is a viable market. This brings us to the introductions of newer models. Direct competition is always a clue that the market is ripe. No experienced manufacturer is going to enter a market which is decreasing in size, thus, suggesting that the Tablet PC market is growing. And just wait for these newer model introductions. They'll have some of you drooling -- better screens, better battery life, faster processors. Ah, I can't wait ! Now, once the press stops complaining because they aren't given free product, those of us who actually use the Tablet PC can get the message out that the product is a fantastic means of enhancing the experience with a computer. Yes, these are clever sounding words and a huge promise but the Tablet PC is simply a PC in which the personal is put back into the computer. So - how do we turn all the negative stories into a positive one? We simply start telling the truth. The Tablet PC sales are growing, there are new products on the way, processors are getting faster and drawing less power (thus increasing battery life) and finally the price is entering into the right arena so that consumers will spend their hard earned cash on the one of the best products to hit the market in years. Finally, if the above reasons still leave you in doubt then it's time to put your doubt to rest. The number one tech search term for google was the phrase tablet pc. What other proof do you need? Now, it's time to buy one, become a tableteer and enjoy the natural way to use a computer.
