"With a camera the size of a tennis ball, a tablet PC and a laptop computer, industry representatives demonstrated Wednesday how Smart Border technology proposed by Sen. Kent Conrad, D-N.D., would work.

The pilot project to help monitor the nation's borders was authorized by Congress last week as part of the intelligence reform bill. It hasn't been funded yet, and officials haven't decided when or where to implement it, but Conrad has been working to ensure it's implemented in North Dakota, based in Grand Forks."
