The best times of the day to work in my classroom are after students leave for the day. Most teachers are also gone and this provides the perfect opportunity to sit quietly, clean the room and reflect on the lessons.

Lately I've hooked up my Tablet PC, logged into skype and checked in with my sister and brother. Since my Acer Tablet PC has a microphone and speakers built into the unit, I'm able to use this setup without taking up much room on my desk. Actually my desk is in a constant state of chaos and therefore it is difficult to know that the Tablet PC is present.

While Lora, Loren and I were on a conference call, our attention was focused on one of the servers constantly going down. I wasn't paying attention to the classroom.

Out of the blue a teacher entered the room, looked around and had a puzzled look on her face. She finally asked what was happening. I explained that I was talking to my sister. She let out a laugh and blurted that she thought I had lost it and was busily talking to myself.

Yes, skype is handy but it can look strange talking to the Tablet PC but it is the perfect tool.
