Closer to home, Eagan-based Brandl Anderson Homes has equipped its construction superintendents with Windows-based Tablet PCs that incorporate Wi-Fi capabilities.

The workers use the computers to keep track of construction projects in the southern Twin Cities. When they need to upload the information to the home office and download other data, they pull up to any of several Brandl Anderson model homes, which have Wi-Fi access points. Then, right in their cars, they click to sync with the central server.
