| hardcore on Tablet PC hardware development When it comes to venturing into hardware development, Azhar is putting his company where his mouth is: GMT is expected to unveil its latest tablet PC model sometime this month. "We decided to venture into the tablet PC rather than notebook market, since tablet PCs are still a relatively new type of product -- this allows us to begin at a similar level as that of our foreign competitors. "Notebook technology is already mature, with most major brands having recovered their development costs, which makes it a harder market for us to break into and successfully compete in," said Azhar. The GMT-ACE tablet PC is the world’s first tablet PC to have a 1GHz VIA Ezra C3-M EBGA processor, he claimed. It was jointly developed by GMT and Singapore's i-Mobile Pte Ltd, which provided the VIA processor and motherboard. hardcore on hardware development
