Microsoft's OneNote shines, especially on Tablet PC was published on USA Today.

OneNote is modeled on a classic college spiral notebook and chockablock with pages, tabs and sections. But it's like no notebook you've ever seen. It's unlimited, for one.

You can type, sure, but with a drawing pad or Tablet PC you can also write in script, draw with assorted pens and highlight in an assortment of pleasing pastels. You can insert sections between notes and drop whole hunks of data anywhere.

Unlike a regular notebook, you can reconfigure your data entirely — to move a page of lists from, say, the "People I Hate" section to the "People I'm Considering Giving Another Chance" tab.

On the Tablet PC, it shines even more.

Indeed it does. After using the trial version since May, I finally broke down and purchased this wonderful software this morning. I also took the opportunity to show it off to a couple of coworkers; they were quite impressed with the "Shared Session" feature. In fact, I might have sold them on the Tablet PC just because of the OneNote software.

Personally, I think it compliments the Tablet PC and feel it should ship with all new models. There's no way I could go back to using the Journal.

Agreed. Journal was really just a "starter" program to show developers what can happen. OneNote is the real deal.
