| Tablet PC Dodo Opinion OK, let's cut to the chase. Mr. Regas published Opinion: The Lackluster Tablet PC, The Platform That Didn't on PDA Handyman - and this may discredit the piece immediately. After all, anyone in the industry knows that the sales for the PDA is slipping. But let's not exaggerate too much here and just attack the person. We need to focus on his message. Are Tablet PC sales slipping like the PDA? The answer is very clear. The Tablet PC is not going the way of the Dodo. Sales continue to increase and with the release of the Averatec C3500, sales are now reaching far into the homes of everyday folks like you and me. No, Tyler, Sales are going better than expected. We all have days when our foot slips into the mouth and fills the void of empty thoughts with a huge stink. Like everyone else, I've had my days, too and when my verbal perfume fills the air I need to be extra cautious. And after backing up a few paces, I can then see where I went wrong or where the logic is falable. Therefore, I have great sympathy for Tyler Regas. He's probably a nice person who wrote a piece without thinking about checking his facts first. So, I'll respectfully disagree with this article. However, in the true spirit of mudslinging presidential campaigns, I'll overstress my position by altering Mr. Regas title just a little bit, rearranging the words to "Tablet PC Dodo Opinion" because I believe that the author is ... well ... wrong. * Demand is growing. * OneNote is excellent for storing notes. * Convertibles are an improvement on notebooks (uhm, laptop is the old term). * NEC's latest slate is 2 lbs.

| Another article Compare this article by David Radin in which the author describes some of the reasons he has not purchased a Tablet PC. There is one point that should be made clear - you pay more for a Tablet PC because you get more. You get handwriting and speech recognition and you get more usable features from MS Office products.
