AMD (NYSE: AMD) today introduced the Mobile AMD Athlon(TM) 64 processor 3400+, bringing customers the highest performing 32-bit/64-bit processor designed for Windows(R)-based notebook PCs. The addition of the new Mobile AMD Athlon 64 processor 3400+ to the award-winning AMD64 processor family provides an even greater selection for powerful 32-bit computing today plus compatibility with tomorrow's 64-bit software. Like all AMD64 processors, the latest Mobile AMD Athlon 64 processor offers an Enhanced Virus Protection security feature, to be enabled by the upcoming Microsoft(R) Windows XP Service Pack 2.

AMD also announced availability of the Mobile AMD Athlon XP-M processor 2200+. The launch of this product marks the first time that a convertible tablet PC will incorporate a Mobile AMD Athlon processor for users that desire ultra-portable performance.

For customers who want an ultra-portable system, Averatec is now offering a convertible PC with the flexibility of both a notebook and a tablet, the C3500 Series based on the Mobile AMD Athlon XP-M processor 2200+. The low thermal design power of this new processor makes it ideal for compact, lightweight designs.

Averatec Ships C3500 Series of Convertible Notebooks That Combine Notebook and Tablet
