motion computing LE 1600 Bump case

I bought my first tablet! I also bought a bump case...the first time I used
it with the case, the pc just rebooted itself...I noticed that the back of
the tablet was really hot..could this be the reason? ...seems unhealthy to
keep all that heat in. Thanks
Liza

Re: motion computing LE 1600 Bump case

I don't have one of the bump cases, Liza, but my guess would be that you
probably tripped one of the buttons. 8-) Make sure the Motion is either
shut down, in Standby or Hibernating mode before placing it in the case.

Re: motion computing LE 1600 Bump case

Liza, I asked someone from Motion about this and this is his response -

"The tablet will run hotter inside a bump case than without a bump case.
There are failsafe mechanisms which will cause the Tablet to shutdown before
it gets hot enough to damage itself. This may be why your tablet shutdown,
or there may have been some other reason. If you are having a persistent
problem please contact Motion Support as shown below and they will help
troubleshoot the problem.
Please contact Motion Support by filling out this email form or, if you live
in the US or Canada, by calling 866-322-9783.
Technical Support Hours:
6:00am - 12:00am Monday-Saturday
(Central Standard Time)"

I hope that helps

Re: motion computing LE 1600 Bump case

I suggest that you remove the tablet from the case while charging. The
charging electronics generate a lot of heat, especially if the tablet is on
and working while charging.

No problem with this issue

I've been using my LE1600 for almost a year in it's bump case with no problems. I only take it out to dock it. I work in the field everyday and make my living with this machine. It does not get overly warm in use that I have noticed. Sounds like something else is going on with yours. You are using the Motion case? It is vented with mesh at the exhaust points and shouldn't overheat.
