Re: TR3000 help is here!! Hi, I've recently purchased a TR3000 for a project at work and it is missing the rubber piece that covers the power hole. Is this possible to be replaced? If so, how much and from where. Please respond to razorz******.com as well as a reply here if possible. Thanks, Damon S.

Re: TR3000 help is here!! Damon, Yes..I e-mailed you about the power flap. Do you have an external second battery? Yes, they do make a device called a stand holder that will charge the tablet and a second battery at the same time. The stand holder also has a VGA out and 2 USB1.1 ports. I can check on what the pricing would be from us...I'm pretty sure we have them in stock. One word of caution on the external battery...we encountered alot of problems with them. I don't know if it was a bad batch or what, but if the external battery gets mismatched cells inside the pack, you will encounter a situation where when the second battery gets drained, it will switch over to the promary (internal) battery. When this happens, the load is removed from the second battery. The mismatched cells will show the voltage of the highest voltage cell, which will trick the tablet into thinking the external battery has available charge. The tablet will try to switch back to the external battery. This will go on, we call it oscillating, back and forth. Eventually, the backlight inverter will blow a fuse (I can't recall what the relation is) and your screen will go dark. The tablet will still seem to act normally (you can hear windows load, ect), but the display will be dark. The remedy to this is to replace the inverter board, which is unfortunately buried under the motherboard. Let me know if you ever encounter this and I can help you out. We have tons of inverter boards, but since we warned our customers, they no longer use them and thus I never have to replace them anymore. If you're interested, we did develop a high capacity internal battery, 7000mAh. (compared to the 7200mAh of the standard internal plus external packs) It's a little larger than a normal internal battery, and it comes with a replacement battery door. It is much smaller and a bit lighter than the internal + external battery combo.

Re: TR3000 help is here!! remove the battery door on the back of the tablet. Remove the main battery. in the cavity underneath, you will see the cmos battery. We used a Sony CR1220 3V watch battery as a replacement. hope this helps!

Re: TR3000 help is here!! I am looking to upgrade the processor. It appears Intel's fastest proc is a 933MHz, PIII, ULV. Have you tested whether you can replace with a non Ultra Low Voltage CPU. There are 1.4MHz PIII available. If so, could you provide the CPU model and socket requirement? Could you give a price for the better internal battery, the docking station and a 512 memory stick? HP docs don't really specify a low voltage memory requirement. I *should* be able to get a generic 144 pin 512MB SODIMM. My unit has both internal and external battery and neither of them hold a charge. Also, what is the process to replace the hard drive? I am looking for the diagram to remove all the correct screws to reach the hard drive.

Re: TR3000 help is here!! The CPU unfortunately is not in a socket, but rather soldered directly to the motherboard. To replace the hard drive, you must remove the seven screws in the battery door, the 14 screws that hold the whole back cover on, and one more silver screw inside the battery compartment in the center of the tablet. Remove the back cover (this may require you to unplug and remove the bluetooth and 802.11 cards, if so equipped). Flip the back cover over and you will see the hard drive cage. It has 4 screws. remove them and flop the cage off to the side and then you can pull the hard drive. We had some problems with certain 512MB PC133 SoDimms, I think the issue had to do with the density of the chips . here is some information from the Unigen datasheet - 512M Bytes (64M x 64 bits), PC133 SDRAM Unbuffered SODIMM, based on 8 pcs 32M x 16 SDRAM with LVTTL, 4 banks & 8K Refresh I can supply you with the parts you desire. please private message me your e-mail address and I will supply you with a formal quote. Thanks!

Re: TR3000 help is here!! Hi Redley Thanks for sharing your knowledge! Can you please provide a quote for the extended main battery as well as the 512 memory upgrade? I purchased the tr3000 with 384 meg ram and the piggyback battery. Maybe the problem you described applied to me as both of my batteries are now dead. If you wish you can have the 256 chip in the unit. I can do the upgrades myself, just need the parts. If anyone is interested, the CDW website has dc power adaptors for about $28 on the outlet (main page, left side about half way down). Look for Itronix in the vendors search bar. Thanks. Randy

Hi Redly, New to the forum. I just purchased a used tr3000, P/N DV132U#ABA. It appears that the internal battery is not holding a charge, but the unit does turn on with the external battery. I would be interested in getting a new internal battery. Also, any sort of user's guide and available accessory list, if available, would be helpful. Thanks for your help. Mark
