TC1000 pen battery leaked

man... so I was having the same issue with the premature clicking and all of the things that most TC1000 users complain about, when I found a smoking good deal on a replacement stylus. I think I got it for like $45 bucks shipped or something like that. It was brand new in the factory box with three replacement tips even. I was so excited. It even had a new battery. Well, I decided that the battery in my pen was working fine, so I put that in the new pen and went to work. Success!! No problems whatsoever! Then tragedy struck. One day the pen just didn't work. I figured the battery must be dead, so I got the new one ready and opened the pen to replace it. CRAP! The freakin old battery blew up or something and leaked battery crap into the pen. Now it won't work even with a brand new battery. So I went back to using my intermitent problem pen and put my wonderful new messed up stylus back in the box.

So my question is if there is anyway to repair the pen? I can't see any damage or even any of the battery goo on anything inside of it, but the tablet won't respond to it anymore. I don't know what is wrong with it. The battery did leak a bit, but if it had leaked down the barrel then I would be able to see it everywhere, right? This thing looks perfectly clean. If anyone knows anything about these pens and wants to help me out, then I'll gladly send it to you to check out and see what you can do. I'm not dropping another hundred bucks on a pen when I should probably just get a new tablet soon anyway. Thanks for any help!

Re: TC1000 pen battery leaked

You could always have a go at taking the internal bits out of the pen and taking a look there, be sure not to break the connection between the battery bit and the nib as this is 2 pieces of very fine wire. Breaking that will cause a dead pen too
