I want to buy an external DVD rom for my TC4200. I looked on the hpshopping.ca site but it really unclear, there's a listing for a cradle but it doesn't say if it needs external power and all in all it just sketchy. I want something that connects to my USB and is powered completely from my laptop, no other cables other then my USB. Does anyone know of any DVD Roms that can do this? I'm looking for something portable that supports USB 2.0. Thanks for the help.

Toshiba Direct offers a portable which powers off the USB ports. Targus also offers the Targus PADVD010U DVD-ROM/CD-ROM USB 2.0 External Drive. You will need two free USB 2.0 ports for either of these to work properly.

TC4200 does have the Powered USB port I looked it up on the HP site (links provided below). My TC1100 has 2 USB ports, I do have a Craddle and two ways to connect it. Tablet Powered USB and an additional USB with mini AC Adaptor. If you are unsure of which specific craddle to purchase, you could probably contact HP for help. The second link is for accessories.
