| HP Tablet CD Rom Boot question I am wanting to buy a HP TC4200 but I read that there is no CD Rom included. I have an LG DVD / CD burner combo (external) with USB 2.0 support. Is that drive supported as a bootable optical drive? As in if I have to reinstall windows or whatever can I put the CD into the USB CDRom and install/restore off it or is there some special CDRom I need to buy? Thanks |

Yes, the HP TC4200 has a powered USB drive by which you can connect your LG DVD / CD burner combo drive...Then when you re-boot your system,Press your jog dial in order to get a pop-up by which you can enter your BIOS. Once in BIOS,change the boot order from hard drive to the CDrom drive since your tablet is a one-spindle drive.Once this is done...you can now reinstall windows or do whatever....there is no need to buy any special CDrom drive....you can use the one you have...hope dat solves your problem! |
